The Retropolis site has been down for quite some time while it has been in the process of becoming a whole new Retropolis. New and improved! ;-) We're still working on this site, and it has a long way to go, but when we found out that some people had even thought we died because the site was down for so long, we thought we should at least get the old blog entries back up here on the new site for starters to let people know we are still around and that Retropolis is coming back. :)

In the series, author Ken Hollings reflects on America's fascination with science during 1947-1959 through a series of rmal lectures. The background music, composed by Simon James, brilliantly captures the soaring theremin sounds (and other musical oddities) you would expect from a 50's sci-fi feature. Plastic Christmas Lawn Ornaments

Hey! What happened to all the plastic light-up lawn ornaments? They must have felt like they didn't belong with all the white icicle lights and all the reindeer made up of hundreds of twinkling white lights. The plastic ornaments I'm talking about were just too colorful and plastic to fit in with all the white lights.
