And now.... a Vintage Valentine Commercial

If you love vintage Valentines, you'll love this vintage Valentine commercial, which is from around the late 40's - 1950's. Before television, Coco Wheats used to have a children's radio show, starring Happy Hank.

In this vintage Valentine TV commercial, Happy Hank shows children the 20 colorful Valentines they will receive if they send in just 10 cents and the Little Crow seal. Can you imagine - just ten cents! Plus, half of the Valentines are MOVING Valentines.

I don't think they sell mechanical Valentines in stores for kids anymore these days. I do see Valentines in stores with young teen pop stars faces on them though. When I was a little girl, I don't think I would have wanted a pop star on my Valentines Day cards. I liked the cutesy ones with pictures of animals, such as a deer that might say "You're a deer. Be my Valentine."

The vintage mechanical Valentines shown in this commercial would be more desired by collectors today, since those are the ones that got torn apart from use (which means there aren't as many of those around as other Valentines).

If you're eager to try some Coco Wheats, you can still try Coco Wheats in stores today. I've never tried them before, but they sound good. Crow Foods has been around for more than 100 years - since 1903. If you'd like to try some, click on their store locator: http://www.littlecrowfoods.com/to_buy/

I discovered on the site that Coco Wheats have been around for 80 years, and contain no added salt or sugar. I must have lived in all the wrong places, because I've never seen Coco Wheats before, but now I am curious to try them myself (yes, even though the Valentine's Day offer expired 50+ years ago). :-) Happy Hank made 'em sound so darn good!
