40 Years of Tapestry. 70 Years of Carole King.

Happy 70th birthday to singer and songwriter, Carole King! Just over 40 years ago, in 1971, she released one of the top selling albums of all time - Tapestry. Songs from that album continue to be well loved by the generations that followed, such as "I Feel the Earth Move", "It's Too Late", "You've Got a Friend", "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman", and "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?". And those are all just from one album!

Carole King has had seven top ten albums. She wrote her first number one single with Gerry Goffin when she was just 18. The song was "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?", which was recorded by The Shirelles. Not only is Carole King an important woman in American music history, but so is her first hit single. It was the first number one hit recorded by an all-girl group.

The Grammy Awards will be on Sunday, and as you watch, give a toast to Carole King. She has won four Grammys of her own. The achievements of Carole King go on and on. Not too shabby for a girl who is only 70, huh? Just imagine what she'll do by the time she's 100! More great music, more songs, and more awards! Go Carole King! Happy Birthday!
